Meredith’s research at Duquesne focused on the conservation of freshwater fishes and mussels using environmental DNA and routine monitoring. While at Duquesne, she also served as Editor-in-Chief of The D.U. Quark, a student-run scientific journal. 

Meredith’s current research is focused on intermittent streams in the South Central United States. Specifically, she is interested in predicting patterns of stream drying, linking drying patterns to the community structure of fish and crayfish, and assessing ecosystem responses to drying.
